The milling and turning compound center uses the combined movement of milling cutter rotation and workpiece rotation to achieve cutting of the workpiece. Instead of simply combining the two machining methods of turning and milling on a machine tool, it completes the processing of various surfaces based on turning and milling compound movement, involving new cutting theories and techniques.

Structural features:


  1. Multi-axis linkage: Usually, there are linear motion axes such as X, Y, and Z axes, as well as rotation axes such as A, B, and C. For example, the common five-axis milling and turning compound machining center has five axes: X, Y, Z, A, and C. It can achieve complex spatial curved processing and special-shaped processing through multi-axis linkage.

  2. Power tool holder: Different from the turret tool holder of ordinary CNC lathes, the turret tool holder in the milling and turning compound center has power tools, which can perform various machining operations such as milling and drilling.

  3. High-precision spindle: It adopts a high-precision embedded spindle, which can provide stable rotation accuracy and cutting power, ensuring machining quality and efficiency1.

  4. Rotating table: Equipped with a rotatable table (C-axis), used to clamp the workpiece and realize the rotating movement of the workpiece, and perform turning and milling compound processing with a milling cutter. Some workbenches also have swing function (B-axis), which further expands the machining range and flexibility.

  5. Automatic tool change system: With tool magazine and automatic tool change device, it can automatically change tools according to processing needs, improving machining efficiency and automation.
